Tamagotchi showcases newly commissioned works under the theme exploring the nostalgia for the once-common virtual pet fascination and considers its ongoing relevance in the world of today's digital natives. The show examines the evolving relationship between human agency and influence through a critical inquiry lens of technology.

Are we living inside a Tamagotchi?

We aim to challenge ourselves to reevaluate our connection with technology and nostalgia through critical engagement with the intricacies of our digital presence . Tamagotchi invites us to reflect and engage in the discourse of our very own virtual dependance and relationships.

Artists:

qubibi - Kuzumasa Teshigahara, also known as qubibi, is a Japanese generative artist and designer specializing in a single system he has been honing since 2010. Throughout his artistic career, qubibi has received numerous accolades, including the D&AD and Cannes Advertising Prize. He has also been featured in a variety of group and solo exhibitions in venues such as Art Basel Miami, Verse Works, Museum of Digital Art Zurich and Galerie Data. Qubibi has built a dedicated collector base through his unique and limited releases of 1/1s across his storeroom and mimizu themed series, as well as his leftovers collection, featuring an endless variety of digital worms. New series is an interactive music-based generative series (reference Magical Door).

Kerim Safa and loackme - collaboration between two France-, and Netherlands-based artists exploring the concept of old games. Initially the collector will see a part of the map through that frame and the good part is they can navigate within their generated map via arrow keys on the computer or by tapping on mobile. The map is larger than the initial window and the collector is also the observer. For instance when they want to export a scene, they will be the decider of which part of the map they want to export - which gives them a creative role in the composition. The game of life algorithm will be working constantly even in the parts that are not visible. It’s like the viewer is exploring a digital ecosystem.

OMGiDRAWEDit - UK based illustrator, artist and NFT creator George Goodwin creates vibrant, engaging and hyper detailed artworks, the creator of cult classic NFTs series' such as Tezzardz and Bedroom Nostalgia. The artworks showcase the artist's signature style, blending cyberpunk aesthetics with nostalgic elements in a psychedelic, densely detailed composition. It depicts a surreal bedroom scene, centered around an imaginary character, surrounded by a chaotic mix of technology, fantasy objects, and abstract world.
