Tamagotchi showcases newly commissioned works under the theme exploring the nostalgia for the once-common virtual pet fascination and considers its ongoing relevance in the world of today's digital natives. The show examines the evolving relationship between human agency and influence through a critical inquiry lens of technology.
Are we living inside a Tamagotchi?
We aim to challenge ourselves to reevaluate our connection with technology and nostalgia through critical engagement with the intricacies of our digital presence . Tamagotchi invites us to reflect and engage in the discourse of our very own virtual dependance and relationships.

Kerim Safa and loackme - Vista is a generative art project, that reimagines the visual language of early video games to explore the nature of artificial ecosystems. Drawing inspiration from the tile-based environments and vibrant color palettes of 80s games, the piece creates a space where landscapes and lifeforms unfold organically and autonomously. The maps are generated through procedural algorithms commonly used in video game design, while the lifeforms follow the unpredictable iterations of the Game of Life algorithm, mimicking the emergent patterns and behaviors found in natural systems. The viewer, rendered a passive observer, can navigate through the map to explore this self-contained ecosystem but is unable to interfere with any elements of the world. By inquiring into the boundaries between observation and participation, Vista reflects on the increasingly mediated experience of technology—an interface through which we observe, yet remain disconnected from the underlying processes and systems that shape the digital environments around us.
