This work is a portrait of the moon, not on a glory
luminous night but the moon as it exists in its quiet
unembellished state. The moon is muted, resisting
the familiar glow we are taught to admire. Here it’s is
no longer a symbol of wonder or distance.
Through this sculpture series, the artist questions
our tendency to romanticize the unreachable. By
bringing the moon into a contained, tactile form, it
becomes something closer, almost held—yet still
distant in essence.
