ABO, 2025
A fully on-chain dynamic social sculpture of 150 networked tokens, in which individual tokens connect and respond to each other in real time: each token displays its own visual identity while revealing relationships with other Abo’s through adjacent columns, with patterns emerging from collective interaction.
Released as part of [aside], utilising a protocol with a custom time-lock that temporarily immobilises tokenised assets on Ethereum, rendering them non-transferable for a set duration or until a specified event. Connecting your Abo to another unlocks both tokens, turning the time-lock into a social mechanism where engagement is the key to access.
Editions are in the collections of ZKM, Francisco Carolinum Linz, and HEK Basel’s flagship collection.
Shown at The Story That Has Just Begun, EnBW headquarters foyer, Karlsruhe (Oct 2025). Related to Downloads (2024), Italic (2019) and Stream (2015).
On-chain-generated, web-based animation: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, Solidity.
On Ethereum.
